FCC to Delete ‘Fairness Doctrine’
From the WSJ:
Federal regulators will propose removing the “Fairness Doctrine,” a controversial, if little used, regulation on political speech from the books this week, the Federal Communications Commission said Monday.
The Fairness Doctrine, which has been around since 1949, required licensed broadcasters to give equal time to differing political views. The rule was introduced during an era in which there were far fewer media outlets and regulators wanted to ensure that listeners had access to both sides of political debate.
The FCC abandoned the policy in 1987 during the Reagan administration, saying it violated broadcasters’ free speech rights, but the regulation remained on the books.

I would teach you, but then I would charge, and then tax you.

”By 2009, King’s family had charged the Foundation $800,000 for the use of his words and image in fund-raising materials for the memorial.”
According to the New York Times:
A Chinese sculptor, Lei Yixin, was selected to create the 30-foot sculpture, and an architect, Ed Jackson Jr., designed the layout, which includes a bookstore, a wall with Dr. King’s quotations and nearly 200 cherry trees. The cost was $120 million, and organizers said they are still trying to raise the last $5 million.
I’m all for keeping the memory of King alive, but $125 million for cherry trees and a rock. Then pay $800,000 to the family, cause they copyrighted his name?

Hey there RIOTERS! What are you wearing? Because this entire article is written, like, about, like, rioters and their couture.
The interesting thing, is that this entire article is written about London’s riots, but not about actual progressive rioting, like, the youth of Egypt or Syria, just for an example. Maybe the Middle Eastern people are not fashionable enough, or NYT just thinks that Muslim women, being in a Muslim setting, must all wear hijabs.
Soon after, I met an art student at a party. Barely out of her teens, she was all red lipstick and cheekbones, her white-blond hair up in a 1950s beehive. She and her friends are the future of the London cultural scene. Despite the continuing gloom, she smiled and drank away. She wore a Barbour jacket.
I can tell you that, no protester would ever go out in a Barbour jacket, because it might get ruined.
F*CK LONDON

Techies or people with cash to burn, don’t know which way to read a book. Read about someone who just, like, read a book on every device, just to find the perfect one.
To be fair, I also read a chapter in that old-fashioned form — a crumply old print paperback.
So, why the song by Mozart? New York Times reviewer James Oestreich, went to a FREE Mozart concert to write a review and this is what he came up with.
In the review Oestreich talked about how a man with an oxygen tank ruined the performance, because of tanky sounds, coughing and loud breathing. Then he goes on to talk about surgery and other things that no one clicked on the review for.
The New York Times printed this review, which was not really a review, but more of a snobby bitch moan.
